The Winter Lectures are free but you need to book your ticket in advance. He has exhibited in the US and has had his work published internationally. His work takes the form of illustration, painting and huge murals which can be seen across the UK and beyond.Īndy has pieces in Bristol Museum’s permanent collection and two large scale works in Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, London. He often incorporates collaboration with communities in his process identifying local and personal landmarks with people which are then included in the pieces. Speaker: Andy Council is a Bristol UK based artist who creates composite beasts made up of architectural landmarks and other recognisable elements. The gentrification of Bristol, tagging, commercialisation of the art form and NOT being Banksy will probably also be mentioned! He will describe how he became involved in the subculture from starting out as an illustrator, his position in the scene, his inspirations and the techniques he uses.
